The length of each cruise is dictated by the distance between major towns/cities, that are suitable meeting points to welcome new Guests and say "au revoir" to those Guests at the end of their cruise.

Day One, Guests will be met at or after 3pm, at the designated meeting point. When aboard we will have a welcome refreshment and chat about the operation of the barge, then take a tour to understand the facilities on board and we'll have a safety briefing. Guests can relax & freshen up before we head out for diner at a local restaurant.

Day Two, enjoy a traditional French style breakfast of fresh croissants, pain au chocolat & bread, with jams, cereals, plus fruit and fruit juice with tea & coffee. Load up a breakfast tray and eat in the dining room, or the sun lounge, or on deck, as you wish.

In the morning we cruise to our destination and the Guest crew help operate the barge, a full briefing and demonstration will be given before we set off, the priority is to safely cruise and negotiate any locks or bridges.

We try to moor by noon, so that we can enjoy a light lunch on board, which might be a flan/quiche, cheese, meats or a salad with local produce, followed by a tart, sorbet or fruit.

The afternoon can be spent exploring by foot or on bicycle, local places of interest, perhaps a local village, Chateaux, museum, vineyard, local artisan, market, a place of interest or natural beauty; or relaxing on board.

When we're all back on the barge, over a drink we can discuss the day that we've enjoyed, the evenings diner destination and what is planned for the following day.

Diner is normally taken ashore at one of the many fine restaurants, which we find sometimes beside the river/canal, or in a local town/village a short walk away. If we can not find a restaurant close to where we are moored, then we can cook diner on board, all helping, as many hands make light work!

The following days of the cruise will follow a similar routine, with different places to visit and different restaurants for a delicious diner.

Last day, sadly the end of the cruise, we will be moored at the designated drop-off point, Guests depart after breakfast, for their onward journey.

Before every cruise we need to communicate to share necessary information to ensure the cruise will be a great holiday, including:

Agreement of the designated meeting point, which will be local to the barge, and the designated drop-off point at the end of the cruise.

Understanding of any dietary requirements.

Understanding of the preference for diner ashore each evening and an approximate budget, to identify and book restaurants, bistros or cafes.

Anything else to ensure that the cruise is enjoyable.
